February Challenge Month Day 11

February Burpee Jumping Squats Challenge
- Day 11 = 11 burpees jumping squats

- I have decided to change this to jumping squats because I can and because I HATE burpees! LOL. At least I admit it RIGHT? Plus I feel like jumping squats will help me more right now because of my thunder thighs and wide hips!

Virtual Run for Sherry Arnold

Today I am participating in the Virtual Run for Sherry Arnold over at Shut Up and Run! Please visit this blog by clicking on the link and reading about the premise for this run. I think it is a great cause and a great reason to lace up your running shoes and hit the road, trail, or treadmill.

Today I ran. I ran for Sherry, and all other runners who have lost their lives, whether it be from criminal foul play or from old age or from disease and illness. I ran for those who wish to run and I ran for those who also run. I know I didn't make it out earlier at the "scheduled" time, but I made it out and I am soooo glad I did. I needed that run today.  

Stats = 3.35 miles in 42:00 (12:32 pace)

So, I figured I would start updating this list every month-ish so I can see my progress on things... Here is my updated list as of the end of Month 1 :)

Rants...

Wow. Just too many things getting on my nerves lately.

Went to get my taxes done today. I'm getting back $43 dollars. Woo hoo. Big money, no? And I am paying around $300 for preparation so I'm actually not getting anything back. It just sucks. I hate taxes. People talk about big refunds, but I've never seen one. It's just not fair. But I could go on and on, so I will stop this rant here.

On another note, found out today that my dad is moving back to Alaska. And how, you might ask did I find out? Did he tell me? Nope. I found out on Facebook. Gotta love that, right? There is so much more to this story that I could write about, but I do not have the time nor the energy to do so. However, it will make for a great story and entry later on!

And I'm kind of getting annoyed at people. One of my best friends just got to Vegas for a girls trip for celebrating finishing her mid terms. Seriously? I didn't get a fun trip for graduating law school or taking the Bar exam and she gets a Vegas trip for finishing mid terms at a community college? It just doesn't seem right or fair.

As for me, I'm here, at home, studying away. I have 18 days until the Bar exam and I am FREAKED out. I have good days and I have bad days... Days where I am positive, and days where I am utterly petrified. I am just beyond freaked out of failing again. But I know I need to think positive and just keep working hard. So that is what I am trying to do.

Just Closed... [Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children]

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I thought this book had a somewhat slow start. However, it got really good and interesting toward the middle and ended pretty well, also. I had a few times where I thought I might not keep reading it and just return it to the library, but I had read some good reviews and was curious to see how things would turn out. It was quite the fantasy novel and very reminiscent of the well known X-Men movies. I enjoyed the pictures through out and think it really added to the already vivid imagery that the author was able to create through his word usage. If you are looking for a book that grips you right from the start, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you are looking for a book that is enjoyable once you get through some of the "introductory" matters, then you would probably enjoy this.

- Done = 35 minutes jog non-stop with no walking = 2.81 miles

- Scheduled = 35 min "wog" (15 min jog, 5 min walk, 10 min jog, 5 min walk)
- Done = Nothing

Thursday, February 2nd
- Scheduled = 60 min cross training activity of my choice
- Done = 35 minutes jog non-stop with no walking = 2.85 miles

Friday, February 3rd
- Scheduled = 35 min "wog" (15 min jog, 5 min walk, 10 min jog, 5 min walk)
