I is for... Insight

Today is my very first day at my new employer. I am starting out as a paralegal/legal firm in a small firm that's approximately 25 miles from where I live.

You may ask why this is important or relevant to my topic for today, which is Insight.

While I am not 100% certain this is where I will want to stay for the longhaul, especially since I would like to be an attorney at some point in my life, I do realize that the amount of insight that I will gain here will be invaluable.

The staff and attorneys have all been here for 10+ years, some even longer and upwards of 20+.

They know the in's and out's of practice and business.

The lady whom shares the office with me has been here for 20 years and is primarily a probate staff assistant.

You better bet I will be asking her questions whenever I have them!

I am definitely a young professional at just 25 years old and I think gaining insight from those who have much more experience is so very important.

Not just in the job environment, but in all arenas of life.

**This post is for the April A to Z Challenge!

  1. Good luck with your new job. So many people are out of work here in the U.K. You're one of the lucky ones to have this opportunity. May you gain all the insight you need to learn what you need.

  2. Congrats on your new job. It sounds like you are going into it ready to soak up everything you can. What a wonderful experience.

  3. Why spend your time with complicated details like talking to the insurance company or auto repair shops body when you can have your attorney handle all that. Leaving that to a law firm which means you have more time to talk to your doctor about your injury, or you can spend your time as you did before the accident. You can spend more time with your family or do more reading and exercise. I can do more outsourcing work to others and leaving only the items that you know you can do yourself. In this way, you have more time to be productive.
